Edit instructions

Attached you can find the document you need to edit and complete/ Due in 8 hours from now- Due by 11pm Eastern US time

Your group was just hired to create instructions that will help senior citizens use technology.  They want to learn how to create a Facebook or Twitter account, buy something from Amazon.com, use iTunes, create a family blog and many more.  Therefore, it is your group’s job to come up with an appropriate set of instructions and accompanying graphics for novice users of the internet.

Presume an audience of novices (i.e. little to no technology experience) and adjust your tone and content accordingly. Use effective document design techniques, which include at least one graphic to supplement your text. This is a group activity; you will select who you will work with.  Groups should have no more than 3 people.  You must utilize technology to write together and share the workload in a fair and equitable way.  The goal of the assignment is for your target audience to be able to carry out all the steps needed to use the technology effectively.  Therefore, you need to think about what novices to technology can already do and what they need to learn.  Your instructions should have at least 20 steps to follow.

Part One:       Instructions

Every group will write and design instructions for one of the following options.

·      Setting up and using a Facebook or Twitter account.

·      Creating an Amazon.com account and shopping on the site.

·      Buying music and creating playlists in iTunes.

·      Creating a family blog.

·      Searching and uploading short videos to YouTube.

·      Creating and using the features of a Gmail account.

·      Setting up and using an Ebay account.

·      Researching and rating travel locations using TripAdvisor.

·      Finding reliable health information on the internet (how to search medical websites, etc.)

·      Using Skype and/ or FaceTime.

Part Two:      Front and Back Matter

Every group should have a title page.  Your group may choose to have a table of contents, glossary, and anything else that helps your instructions become more usable to a novice audience.  See our book’s description of front and back matter if you need an explanation of these items.
