1. Historic and current trends and issues play a big role in early childhood education and policy, from funding, to teacher qualifications, to standards, to definitions of high-quality programs, and more. Learning theories have helped define high-quality education, and they continue to help guide teaching professional practice. By the end of this course, understanding the significance and impact of trends, issues, policies, and theories in early childhood education will help you formulate your education philosophy.
   Research the necessary presentation components. The following organizations may be helpful resources for this assignment:
   • National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC)
   • Childhood Education International
   • U.S. Department of Education
   • Create a 10- to 15-slide presentation about issues, trends, theories, and public policy in early childhood education, and include:
   • At least 2 historic and 2 current trends and/or issues in education
   • How do these trends and/or issues you discovered affect you as a teacher, your students, and their families?
   • At least 3 theories and/or models of early childhood education
   • The importance of play theories for early childhood education
   • The implications of brain-based research for the early childhood classroom
   • A current public policy affecting early childhood education and the:
   • Major policy elements
   • Policy implications for early childhood education
   • Include a title page, speaker notes, and a reference slide.Cite references to support your assignment.
