• Select one of the categories (e.g. changes in vector ecology, water quality, severe weather) of climate change and impact on human health in the CDC graph above. Describe some of the health impacts based on information provided in the organizational websites or other credible sites.
• Select a level of the socio-ecological model and discuss what barriers you think are in place that would need to be addressed to change behavior at that level (individuals, community, or organizations). List any suggestions that you might have to overcome these barriers.
• For example, increasing allergens leading to increases in asthma. At an individual level, patients may not be aware of the impact that these allergens are having on their health or the changes in medication required to manage their asthma. It is difficult to find the channels to educate patients and given the complexity of air quality this is difficult content to convey. An app that would provide daily information on the air quality to patients with asthma in easy to understand language and also provide questions for them to ask their provider.
