Computer-based training is more widely used today by both organizations and educational institutions. Discuss the differences between CBT and eLearning in both environments. List the basic components of CBT and how interactive multimedia is used to enhance the content of the CBT. Give some of your own experiences with CBTs as examples.What do you think would be the greatest challenge when creating a CBT module for a new software system?

Putting each significant training partition together while covering all areas that effectively result in a trainee adapting their knowledge to a learned system. Videos that are over an hour long could perhaps lose the interest of the trainee. I know from wanting to learn cloud computing, there were a multitude of videos through YouTube (good training videos exist, but lots of junk to sort through sometimes to find one) some that were one hour long, and some that were 15-20 minutes. I sat through the hour long video and didn’t learn nearly as much as the shorter one. As far as the software system CBT modules, variety and how the trainee picks up the necessary skills depends on presentation. Thorough explanations that aren’t dry, and consistently draw the viewers attention is the challenge. Finding a balance of slides, speakers, and animations that work solidly to create a sound CBT video seems like a fine start.
