A lot of starting information can be found with a google search of “wiki top 500 supercomputer”. Write about 4 pages of summarized details of everything that you can find about it that is pertinent to what we have learned in this course. Connect this system’s details to what you have read and learned for the Lab and Lectures for weeks 11 and 12. Your choice of system to describe must be based on the ones that have published details available. (Those 4 pages should be about 2000 words.)
Be sure to include details such as:
1) What primary processor CPU, GPU, TPU, or GPGPU is used?
2) How many general purpose computing CPU cores and how many special purpose or GPU cores?
3) How much memory per CPU core processor?
4) How much memory per GPU?
5) What software and programming language is used on the general purpose CPUs?
6) What software and programming language is used on the GPUs?
7) Which best describes it: SISD, SIMD, MIMD?
8) What communication system connects the processors that are not tightly coupled?
9) What is the best sustained number of teraflops?
10) What is the estimated or published “teraflops per dollar”?
Please consider that, sometimes, the information is just not available. There are two possibilities: either (a) you should select another supercomputer or (b) the answer is just not available. If you need to, just explain why the information cannot be found.
