In this week’s post, you are going to practice “translating” for a public audience.
Find a scholarly article in your field, preferably one you may plan to use for the Multimodal Discipline Project. Post a link to the article or include a PDF of the article in your post. Select five words or terms from the article that you don’t understand. Using any tools at your disposal (Google, dictionary, encyclopedia, other reference sources in your field), write a post defining those terms as if you were explaining them to a public audience. Keep your definitions simple and short. (No word count for this part.)
Once you have done that, read an article another classmate has posted. In a response of at least 150 words:
1. Explain if any of the words or terms your classmate defined still don’t make sense (and why).
2. Describe another part from the original article that you don’t understand (and why).
