Explain why police officers have to often follow the reading of the Miranda warnings with the following two questions:
1. Do you understand each of these rights I have explained to you?
2. Having these rights in mind, do you wish to talk to us now? (p. 76)

The authors write, “The question of comprehension is particularly relevant for some of the more vulnerable groups in our society” (p. 77). Explain why this above statement is important. Which vulnerable groups do the authors discuss? Discuss one particular case from any of the vulnerable groups to demonstrate why comprehending Miranda Rights is important.
