A key strategy that managers can use in combating workplace stress, is for managers to learn how to Lead by Example. Managers are not just an authority figure within an organization, they are also an influential individual as well as being a role model to other employees. Especially to young adolescent teens and young adult employees. Part of being a manager is learning how keep your own emotions in check. Not letting the negativity of others pull you in and suck the life out of you. As that will lead you in to anger issues and stress issues which will eventually rub off to your employees. Part of Leading by example is also practicing what you preach. Examples are taking regular breaks, not being a work alcoholic, also take time off from work, doing this shows its ok to take breaks and time off to enjoy life.
I look at myself today has I’ve overcome many hardships and challenges in my life so far, and the successes I have accomplished have been nothing shy of hard work and sacrifices. As a current leader in my organization, I do feel my approach is that of an interactive leader, as I’m always communicating with my co-workers, always looking to make sure we are working together, and we are all on the same page with issues and solutions. I understand the meaning of being realistic. I do believe in realistic priorities, making realistic goals and setting realistic deadlines
