Hello , i have some work to do , everything is explained below .

discussion board

In order to understand Archimedes Principle you will learn this week, it is important to understand basic definitions. Based on the assigned reading for the chapter 9, describe your observations in the image below using the CER Method.

“According to the Claim, Evidence, Reasoning (CER) model, an explanation consists of:

  • A claim that answers the question
  • Evidence from students’ data
  • Reasoning that involves a rule or scientific principle that describes why the evidence supports the claim”

1- Initial Discussion Post

Why are the three fluids and one gas layered as they are in this jar? No special procedure was used to make this happen. Be very descriptive in your answer and make sure to discuss all four layers A, B, C, and D using CER. In your answer identify each portion of your answer that corresponds to CER. (Example: Claim – your answer, Evidence – your answer, Reasoning – your answer.) Using this table Download table as well as what you observe in the image, identify a reasonable combination of what the A,B,C, and D layers could be composed of. Students who apply only the table and not observations to identify A,B,C, and D will have a reduced grade. In other words, your claim must correspond with your observation and the information provided to you in the question.

2- Reply to a Classmate Post (i’ll send it later . I have to post mine first then i can see my classmate reply )

Reply to a classmate who doesn’t already have a reply. Correct any misconceptions or errors your classmate made in their initial post. Did you learn anything from what they wrote? If so what is it, and provide a thorough explanation of what it is you learned. Next, watch this (3:29) video and take notes. Using CER explain what you observe about the ice cubes in jars 1 and 2. Why are the ice cubes exhibiting different behavior in the 2 jars? Make sure to provide any calculations needed for the R portion of CER. Utilize the terminology you learned in Chapter 9 and apply Archimedes principle to the ice in both jars with thorough explanations and any applicable equations. Calculate the density of both fluids and identify what they potentially are based on the table provided above for the initial post. Do you have enough information to calculate the Buoyant Force on the ice cubes in each jar? If so, make the calculation. If not, explain what information is needed and how it could be obtained. (To earn credit for any required calculations you must show your work. No work, no credit.)
