I am a community college student, and I am applying to the University of California. Still, I did not complete 12 credits for three semesters because I needed to work to pay the rent and expenses, and I did not have enough time to study. The following is my explanation of the Gap in education. Since English is not my native language, I need your help to make my explanation more convincing and fluent.
Since the spring of 2020, I have had three semesters with less than 12 credits, which cannot be counted as a full-time student. During that time, I was working to pay my rent and living expenses. During the outbreak, I lost my job, and I needed more time to earn money and maintain my everyday life. In the spring of 2021, I took just one class. I didn’t have enough money to pay rent at that time, so I worked six days a week in a restaurant that semester. That semester I found something I loved in life. I learned how to cut hair by watching videos on Youtube. That semester meant a lot to me, and I used that skill to make money. Now barbering has become my part-time job.
