1.Write an essay (4000-4500 words) on the topic: How can English teachers meet the challenge of creating a learner-centred, communicative, intercultural classroom to achieve optimal student learning outcomes. The essay could be structured into three brief literature reviews on the topic of (i) autonomous learning, (ii) Communicative Language Teaching, and (iii) intercultural language learning. You need to include your reflections on teaching and learning in the classroom context with reference to theory and research on language, language teaching and learning in your overview. Discussion of strategies for effective language teaching and learner skills development should also be included. You may choose just focus specifically on one macro skill (e.g. reading or writing), or focus generally on English as a second or foreign language teaching and learning.
