Develop a Response to Support Student Relationships

Instructions

This week, write a paper to help you better understand how to support student relationships. There are two parts that you should include in this paper:

Part 1: From your readings and prior knowledge/experiences, select one staff person with whom you are familiar who typically works with students with EBD in a school. Develop a list of what their general roles and responsibilities would be for this position. Then, discuss at least two job roles or functions you would like added to your list. Define the newly identified roles or responsibilities, and then justify your rationale for including each one.

Part 2: Discuss a regular classroom situation you witnessed, or have read about, involving a student with EBD and a display of behavior inappropriate for the classroom setting resulting in negative peer interaction. Describe the event. Explain how you would approach this situation to create positive peer relationships involving students with EBD in your classroom/school. From a leadership point of view, what additional supports might be necessary to sustain this approach?

Support your assignment with at least five scholarly resources. In addition to these specified resources, other appropriate scholarly resources, including older articles, may be included.

Length: 7 pages, not including title and reference pages. Please use and cite this book Effective supports for students with emotional and behavioral disorders by Vern Jones,Al Greenwood,Cory Dunn.

Your assignment should demonstrate thoughtful consideration of the ideas and concepts presented in the course by providing new thoughts and insights relating directly to this topic. Your response should reflect scholarly writing and current APA standards.
