2 pages spread set up using Photoshop
Hi everyone,
Please read the attached instructions carefully. This project needs to be done using Photoshop. Some other things that need to be used in the project are CARP (Contrast, Alignment, Repetition, Proximity), color, all photos must be the same size and margins must be one half inch on all sides. Please save the document as .jpg/jpeg and .psd with layers. Please consider all the instructions. I have also attached some examples and videos to help you with the project.
I’ll send you some examples with some tutorial videos for more explanation

Overview:
You are to create a simple step by step ‘How-To’ tutorial on some task that would require photos and text to teach the concept.You will include a clear explanation of the task along with textual directions and appropriate photos and descriptive graphics in a double page spread*.*This will mean that you will have to take into consideration the gutter/fold of the publication.
You will need to take original photos for this process.Youwill NOT use screen captures.One of the objectives is to have you show an understanding of basic macro (close up) photography as well as image manipulation.

Important Considerations:
- Make sure you are supplying everything the reader needs to complete the project.
- Anticipate problems and address them.
- Consider cultural differences.Eg. Phrasing, units of measurement
- You might consider some background information.I.e. Give some historical context for the food you are preparing.
- Images must be clear and well focused, well lit, cropped appropriately,and appropriate for instruction
- Sequenced well.
- Consider iconography for sequencing such as numbering.
- You may want to consider graphics such as arrows to show motion or directions.
- Take into consideration that the document will be folded.Images or text that go through the gutter will be obscured.
- Demonstrations are done with appropriate safety precautions or warnings.
- All graphic design concepts have been addressed.
- If you are using InDesign make sure that all images that are used in the design are all located in the same folder with the design.
- Including some cultural sensitivities would be good in fulfilling LiveText Objectives
Be careful to address CARP, Shape, Color, and Typography principles.
Size:
The size will be two pages 8.5 x 11 inches each presented on opposing pages. The gutter (where the two pages would fold) will be ½” on either side of the center line. ½” margins on the outside borders.
Format:
The final deliverable will be exported as a .jpg/jpeg and .psd with layers.
