In this discussion forum, you will share the various risk factors that you identified for the vulnerable population group you are focusing on for this course. Be sure to consider any physiological, psychological, sociocultural, developmental, and spiritual concerns that this population group may face.

Upon successful completion of these activities, you will be able to:

Examine the concerns of selected vulnerable or impoverished aggregates from a holistic perspective.

Identify key causal factors and outcomes of vulnerability.

Review the appropriate rubric to make sure you understand the criteria for earning your grade.

Read the chapter that most deals with the vulnerable population group that you plan to interview in Public Health Nursing: Population-Centered Health Care in the Community.

Review peer-reviewed articles in OCLS related to the vulnerable population that you have chosen.  OCLS resources are preferred sources and can be accessed through IWU Resources.  Wikipedia is not permitted, as it is not a peer-reviewed, scholarly source.

Prepare to discuss the following prompts:

Describe the demographics of your chosen vulnerable population.

Identify risk factors that impact this population from a holistic perspective, including each of the following:

Physiological factors

Psychological factors

Sociocultural factors

Spiritual factors

Developmental factors
