De Anza College Ted Talk Body Language Discussion

I’m working on a communications discussion question and need an explanation and answer to help me learn.

This week we’ll focus on learning more tools to become more confident with PS. In addition, we’ll evaluate a speech, giving us an opportunity to reflect on the various elements of a speech.

1. Watch this TED Talk by Amy Cuddy “Your body language may shape who you are”

(link: https://www.ted.com/talks/amy_cuddy_your_body_language_may_shape_who_you_are?utm_campaign=tedspread&utm_medium=referral&utm_source=tedcomshare (Links to an external site.))

2. Then, respond to the prompts by Tuesday, 11:59PM:

In about 150 words:

Regarding the topic and research of the speech (the content), what are the 3 big take-aways you gleaned? Be specific.

Regarding the speech construction itself, what techniques did the speaker utilize that you’ve read about so far in this course (or that you have learned about speeches previously)? Be specific.

After giving your response from the prompt above, please come up with your own “Personal Reading Question” for someone else in the class to give a response.

Based on the readings and video, this question can be about something you found exciting? Interesting? Confusing? Stimulating? Liberating? Frustrating? Thought provoking?

Label this question as, “Personal Reading Question” and place it at the bottom of your discussion entry
