Background: I will major on business. I am in Santa Clara University, but I want to transfer to other universities involving USC. I have completed courses including Child Studies: Cultural Competence & Humility, History of US to 1877, Business: Feeding the world, Sociology: intro social entrepreneurship, Mathematics: calculus & analytic Geom, Religion & Society: ways of understanding religion, Theatre: culture and ideas, Economics: international econ, develop & growth, philosophy: ethics in society, and business: contemporary business issues.

Part 1: Responses to each question should be between 250-350 words (Common Application questions)

Required question: Please describe how you have prepared for your intended major, including your readiness to succeed in your upper-division courses once you enroll at the university.

Select the 3 questions from following 7 questions:

1. Describe an example of your leadership experience in which you have positively influenced others, helped resolve disputes, or contributed to group efforts over time.

2. Every person has a creative side, and it can be expressed in many ways: problem solving, original and innovative thinking, and artistically, to name a few. Describe how you express your creative side.

3. What would you say is your greatest talent or skill? How have you developed or demonstrated that talent over time?

4. Describe how you have taken advantage of a significant educational opportunity or worked to overcome an educational barrier you have faced.

5. Describe the most significant challenge you faced and the steps you have taken to overcome this challenge. How has this challenge affected your academic achievement?

6. What have you done to make your school or your community a better place?

7. Beyond what has already been shared in your application, what do you believe makes you stand out as a strong candidate for admissions to the University of California?

Part 2: writing supplement (Approximately 650 words) (Common Application questions)

Please provide a statement that addresses your reasons for transferring and the objectives you hope to achieve.

Part 3: Please respond to one of the prompts below Approximately 250 words (USC question)

1. USC believes that one learns best when interacting with people of different backgrounds, experiences and perspectives. Tell us about a time you were exposed to a new idea or when your beliefs were challenged by another point of view. Please discuss the significance of the experience and its effect on you.

2. USC faulty place on emphasis on interdisciplinary academic opportunities. Describe something outside of your intended academic focus about which you are interested in learning.

3. What is something about yourself that is essential to understanding you?
