Initial post Instructions:

1. For this discussion, please pick any company of your choice. For that company, what level of quality should they be aiming for? Why?

2. Please respond with 3 sentences, similar to this example: “Starbucks is primarily a coffee company. They are focused on mass customization to ensure their customers are satisfied with their food or drink orders. They might aim for Level 3 quality because automation may not allow for the level of customization their customers seek, yet they want to avoid customers receiving a defect”

Student A post: “Hello Class,

The company I am discussing is Summit Funding a mortgage company. The level of quality we should be aiming for is 5 for many reasons. A home purchase is the largest purchase someone will make in their life and deserve to have nothing less than 5 level quality. The home purchasing process is also high stress and having great service helps relieve stress and makes the process better. We all talk care of the clients after the process and make they feel taken care of.

Thank you,”

Student B post: “Walmart Inc. is primarily a retail company in America operating a chain of super centers, grocery stores, and discount department stores from the United States. They are focused on the provision of quality merchandise at a low and affordable cost to their customers compared to other retail companies in the United States and beyond. The company also focuses on effective logistics that require inventory management systems and technology to aid in the reduction of costs which are later passed to its customers. The company has managed to beat the competition in the country and beyond, becoming the largest company in the world by revenue. The company may aim for three levels of quality because subsidizing their prices making them affordable to their customers is not enough to ensure that the products, they sell to them are of high quality. The three levels of quality that they could aim for include; checking for defects, detecting the errors (level 4) , and preventing these errors (level 5).”
