For your research paper, you will need to analyze the scenario as a case study. Determine what you think the main legal and ethical problems are, research the legal and ethical rules or principles related to those problems, and apply those rules to the specific fact pattern in order to discuss possible courses of action. Explain the legal and ethical reasons why a particular course of action is appropriate in this case. The problem will present both legal and ethical issues that you will be expected to analyze, demonstrating that you have a) mastered the assigned material for the course and b) conducted sufficient research beyond the assigned materials to have developed specific expertise on the issues presented by your assigned problem.
