Question:
1. Identify three specific situations, experiences, ideas, or people that motivated the author the most to follow his or her own path in terms of education, work or life purpose. 2. Analyze each of these “motivators” to show how and why they inspired or influenced the author’s views on education, work or life purpose. For each “motivator” also identify an “obstacle” the author had to overcome to stay motivated
Some possible motivators and obstacles:
Love (Romantic or Platonic), Family (Parents), The American Dream, Cultural expectations or traditions, Race/Racism, Education, Career/Work, Class/Social Mobility, Role Models/Mentors, Nature/Animals, Books/Reading/Writing, Money
Other Requirements: All the elements of structure for intro, body and conclusion should be included:
Intro • Identify the author and text title and briefly explain what the text is about overall. Then include the two thesis points based on the most important “reasons” in the text.
Body Paragraphs (3)• There should be three body paragraphs that each include a topic sentence reflecting a thesis point, elaboration on that topic, quotes, analysis and transitions to the next topic. Each body paragraph should have at least 3 quotes properly set up, cited and analyzed!
Conclusion • Provide final insights on the topics discussed in the paper and briefly address whether or not the author you choose it right about her or his points.
