Part 2: The Early Years of Literacy Development
Create and insert a diagram or other visual showing the stages of reading development from birth through preschool.

- Concepts of print

- Phonemic awareness
- Phonics

Part 3: Reading Strategies, Interventions, and Instructional Approaches

Complete the chart below. Describe the purpose of each informal assessment, the type of setting you would implement it in (e.g., whole group, one-on-one, small group), and include two web link resources for each assessment that provide additional information, support, and/or printable for that assessment.
Part 4: Reading-Writing Connection and Technology
Create a matrix or other visual focused on comprehension, vocabulary, and fluency.
Provide a description of two to three strategies for developing each of the following reading skills:
- Oral and silent reading fluency
- Reading comprehension
- Vocabulary knowledge
- Reading content area texts

Part 5: Reading Assessments
Create a graphic organizer or other visual with four activities for incorporating writing into your everyday curriculum. Branch off a brief explanation of each activity, along with a description of the setting in which it might be used.
Research and incorporate four technology tools you can use in your classroom to enhance reading and writing instruction. Include a brief description for each tool, and how you would use the tool for instruction. Be sure to cite the web link for each tool for future reference.
Part 6: Reflection
Write a 175- to 350-word reflection that highlights the new ideas, strategies, and methods from this course that you might consider implementing into your own teaching environment. Provide a rationale as to why these elements may fit into your current instruction.
