Tuskegee Study
Human subjects in experiments have elicited mixed reactions considering that some of the trial drugs can be harmful. I want to speak about the Tuskegee experiment, which kicked off in 1932 after a collaboration between the Tuskegee Institute and the Public Health Service. The main aim was to observe the history of untreated syphilis among black subjects. As you all know, conducting research without the subjects’ or respondents’ consent is unethical. A similar case was observed in the Tuskegee Experiment. The subjects were enticed to the study in exchange for free meals, free medical healthcare, and burial insurance. Even those with syphilis had never been diagnosed and were denied treatment
Read the research and make a summary of the research with the aim of explaining its relevance in treatment of syphilis
