Taste of Henry County

Jason T. Harper Event Center

Heritage Park

95 Lake Dow Road

McDonough, Georgia 30253

Dear Taste of Henry County,

My name is Monique Felton and I am the fundraiser administrator. I am inquiring about funds for A Friend’s House (AFH) in the amount of $50,000. The funds will help with the intake of more children in need of a loving, caring home. All children need a safe and warm place to lay their heads without any worries. AFH mission statement: “A Friend’s House believes that all youth should have a loving, caring, safe environment, no matter what circumstances they’ve encountered in their lives. Therefore, our mission is to provide a home that addresses the physical and emotional needs of the children and youth we serve in our community” (A Friend’s House, INC, 1).

A Friend’s House is a nonprofit organization that intake infants through eighteen-year-olds. AFH was established in 1955 by some residents in Henry County to care for children who are neglected, abused, and abandoned. AFH is located:

111 Henry Parkway

McDonough, Georgia 30253

678-432-1630

AFH has intake over 2000 children in their care and most have aged out and ended up successful.

The funds will go toward the daily operation of AFH; clothes and shoes; food; toiletries; cleaning supplies; and outside activities for the residents that live in the home. AFH’s goals are to take more children into the home and make the children’s experience feel like a warm and welcoming place to live. The funds will help our intake and the daily operation go smoother because it will be easier for the children to come in and already have what he or she needs without having to wait until AFH gets funds or gets approved for funds from the Division of Family and Children Services.

Sincerely,

Monique Felton
