Research has always been a passion of mine as I like to know as much as I can about many topics. One area of research for me is that it must be on a topic I am interested in or that I can use in real life to retain the information and to have passion to continue researching it. When it comes to research, one will find that there is good information, bad information, and in-between information where pieces must be put together to get a close to result. A question that comes to mind in these types of situations is how do I know what is good, bad, or in-between? My opinion, perspective, or view can influence that information that is being researched and influence my ongoing research as to what I am looking for in that topic. However, that is the beauty of research.

Where I feel I have the least knowledge or confidence in is to overthink what I am researching or what is expected of me regarding the topic at hand, but also using the correct verbiage when trying to address the topic and the research methods I am working through. The positive aspect of research is that it is focusing on a topic of choice, researching the many areas within that topic, implementing a plan to review and make changes if necessary, and always continuous improvement as more data comes available with research (McNiff, 2017). A plan to increase my confidence and skills through working with action research is to allow room for thinking, but being self-aware of where overthinking will take me, but also learning more in depth about the verbiage being used so I can increase my research findings as we move forward in this class.
