When you’re done respond to the following prompts to the best of your abilities. About a page or two ought to do it.
For this week’s assignment, After reading Federalists 10 and 51. Write in complete responses to the following questions:
WARNING: It’s not uncommon to read them multiple times to get all you want from these documents. They are not easy reads. So read them more than once if that is what it takes to understand them.
- What was James Madison trying to accomplish in both papers? What is the problem he is trying to solve? What is James Madison trying to understand? (1-2 paragraphs min)
- Once you identify the problem then try to figure out what James Madison’s solution to the problem is? (1-2 paragraphs min)
(So 4 to 8 paragraphs in total.)
As with prior assignments, please do not worry about getting the “right” answer. Just make sure the answer is yours as you understand it. The goal here is to get you to read and interpret these texts, which often isn’t easy. So take your time with it, and see what you make of it.
