CSUF Bullies Victims and Bystanders Discussion

Think about a bully from your youth. What age where you? Who was this person? What were his/her characteristics? What behaviors did he/she do to bully others? Why do you consider these behaviors to be bullying behaviors? Who did he/she bully? Who was this victim? What were the victim’s characteristics? What were the consequences for the bully and victim? Were there bystanders? What role did they play in the bullying incidences? How do these people fit into the bully-victim information discussed in the readings? If you did not experience bullying in your youth, you may use an example from your work with children or you can make one up.

Based on your reflections, write a 5 page paper in APA format (4 pages of text, 1 works cited page) that includes the following:

1) summarizes the characteristics, behaviors, and consequences of the bullies, victims, and bystanders from your youth, and 2) describes how your experiences with bullying compare to the research and concepts presented in the readings (e.g., the definition of bullying, the social-ecological model and/or other theories, the types of bullies, victims, and bystanders, bullying prevalence, the risk and protective factors, and the consequences for bullies and victims). Your paper should be approximately 4 pages of text with one work cited page. You do not need a title page, abstract, or running head, but can include those if you wish.
