Assignment Instructions

This is a power point presentation. The assignment should be 4 slides (not including the introduction). The assignment is basically to show how a project can be developed to deliver a CRM Cloud transformation to a SaaS solution given the challenges describe below. You can use Sales Force (https://www.salesforce.com/crm/

)  as the SaaS solution. It is important that the two questions below are addressed. Thanks in advance.

The power point should address the following deliverables:

  1. A brief overview of the context and of the problem or situation to be addressed.  Include facts about the company, industry, and competitors.

(Typically, this will be the creation of or improvement of a business capability, supported by cloud-based applications, data, and infrastructure.)

  • A diagnosis of the need for change, and sources of resistance to change.

(Typically, this will be based around the need to change a business capability or the way it is performed, along with the need to change the supporting IT.)

Details on the company and project:

Dunder Mifflin (stock symbol DMI) is a mid-cap regional paper- and office-supply distributor with an emphasis on servicing small-business clients. With a corporate office in New York City and branches in Albany, Utica, Scranton, Akron, Nashua, Buffalo, and Rochester.  The branches ‘as-is’ environment consists of independently designed, resourced, and managed common use IT that operates without strategic vision.  GG2 (Georgetown’s Group 2) Consulting Services was hired to modernize and optimize the IT presence for Dunder Mifflin to bring their IT and eCommerce presence into a common platform that will allow them to compete with their big box customers, such as Office Depot and Staples.  Since each branch is located in smaller cities with depleting economies, local officials will be sensitive to any changes that could lead to job loss.  Dunder Mifflin also has an aging workforce that is fearful and resistant to change.  In addition to a technological transformation, GG2 will need to develop a robust communication and stakeholder engagement plan, if this project is to succeed.
