All students are required to complete a research paper for the course. To complete the paper, the student should use the Internet as a research tool to find online articles and material. All materials used, whether online articles or other publications, must be from a reliable source such as the online databases available through the Horry-Georgetown Technical Library. Material from on Wiki-collaborative sites (e.g., Wikipedia) is not considered reliable sources of information for this research paper. April 2020
The research paper of this course must be based on ONE of the following subjects:
- Effects of crisis-related stress on the first responder
- Incidents of suicidal behavior involving first responders
- Cult recruitment and targeted personalities
- Domestic violence within first responders’ families
- Law enforcement encounters with the mentally ill
- Threats to the courtroom and security measures
