The Essay should be no less than 650 words. As always, I expect your work to be spell-checked and grammatically correct. The essay is a critical essay meaning no “i” should be used.
” CRITICAL ESSAY reviews another work, in this case a work of literature. The key will be to analyze, or examine closely, the positive and negative aspects of the work. Any observations or claims about the work must be supported with evidence from the work itself.
• You do not use first person (“I”) in a critical essay. It should not be written as an opinion piece — avoid the phrases “I believe,” “to me,” “in my opinion,” etc.
It is much easier to focus on a single aspect of a work rather than an entire work.
• You are allowed to use relevant background or historical information to show the importance of the work and the reason for your conclusions.
• SUPPORTING EVIDENCE FROM THE TEXT is key
• You are allowed to set up the essay with questions but they must be resolved or the issues raised must be resolved/addressed in a clear way”
—— A plus work please.
