– For this week, you are to integrate the reading lessons into the creation of an Incident Action Plan (IAP) and document that on ICS 201. Remember to utilize the “Incident Priorities” established in your prior reading assignments, for example: protection of life, incident “stabilization” (prevent it from getting bigger), protection of property, protection of environment, restoration of community.
– Group A – Winter Storm Jonas resulted in a roof collapse of a Senior supervised living facility housing 8 residents, 3 with ‘special care needs’ requiring continuous electrical power. Two staff and 2 residents are unaccounted for in this brick and wood frame 2 floor plus basement structure.

The Joint Commission Preparedness Guide – See attached.
See attached FEMA IAP Planning Guide. It’s a big document, but worth adding to your personal library.

FOCUS POINTS
No, the Ciottone ref isn’t an error. You only need that one page from that text. The Perry text is an outstanding resource for plan development, so read that one carefully. While the FEMA IAP Planning Guide is big, it is mostly useful as a reference. Don’t try to read the whole thing yet. Take a good look, though, at the templates. These aids prove invaluable in EM, not just for planning, but for exercise development, critique etc. We will use these over and over during the masters.
