Course-Security Architecture and Design

Johnson’s Health System is a 200-bed, non-profit regional medical center which offers a range of medical services through various departments such as Orthopedics, Pathology, Emergency, Dental, Gynecology, Anasthetics, ICU, Blood bank, Cardiology, Cancer, MRI, Neurology etc. Johnson’s Health Systems provides medical services throughout the state of Washington, USA. Over 300 staff members working at Johnson’s Health System include doctors, lab technicians, receptionists, componders, nurses and pharmacists.

The current process of data management at JHS is quite inefficient because the data entry operators are maintaining the data by manually entering it in spreadsheets. The data entry operators are spending 60% of their time in sorting and analyzing reports to manually enter the data and maintain information according to hospital and other regulatory standards.

The primary objective of this project is to build a secure and robust data management system which will be capable of logically storing data related to doctors, departments, rooms, patient profile, bills, prescriptions, laboratory reports, in-patient and out-patient records and appointments.
