A new service application offers people an online account where they can log in and use a browser to view and remotely control a few home appliances that include: Robot Vacuum Cleaner, Air conditioner/heating, 5 lighting switches, and temperature. 6 wi-fi sensors are already installed on five lighting controls and one has been placed on the home temperature control device.
The requirements are:
After logging in to the account through a browser (not needed for this exercise) the user should be able to:
- See Date and time
- Turn On and off Vacuum cleaner Robot. The system should show feedback when it is running and the last time that was used.
- 5 light switches and their status (i.e. on/off at present) with the ability to change their statuses.
- The home temperature at present with the ability to increase/decrease the temperature (C/F). Based on the temperature, the system should show which device (Air Conditioning/Heating) is running.
- The user must be able to perform all these activities from a single screen.
Users: All homeowners have different levels of computer knowledge worldwide.
Expectations: An extremely easy to use and robust system.
Step 1.
All the components of the page must be labeled accordingly and the location of the controls needs to be designated on each screen.
Step 2
Add annotations for interaction for example how to change the temperature if needed should be added.
Step 3
Describe the techniques that you are going to use to validate your design.
Step 4
Create a high-fidelity interactive prototype for this application using one of the approved prototyping applications.
(Axure,invision, Adobe Creative Suite, Figma)
Your submission must include the following 2 files. Do not zip them. Upload them individually.
- A report as per the template provided with a screen of your high-fidelity prototype (1 page). Paste your screen in the report template.
- Prototype file of the application that you used for the prototype (for example XD file on Figma or JIM.)
