This case study is based on an intervention that intends to introduce farming technology to remote locations. This technology – called “farm in a container” – uses a controlled environment to produce vegetables and is useful in areas where vegetables cannot be farmed in open air due to extreme cold or warm temperatures. The container comes with a solar panel and a backup generator to address its electricity needs. Therefore, in addition to selling the produce they grow, the operator can also sell electricity.
