Research Proposal Checklist
Note: This is a general guideline and each individual should determine what is required for their
proposal based on their specific university requirements. PhD level pass or fail so no requirement can be left out. See attached research proposal guidelines for all that needs to be included.
The counseling research proposal topic that I would like to do this research proposal/dissertation and presentation on is as follows. This can be a difficult topic that most are not educated on but it is an extremely interesting topic that I wish to educate the public on and provide as much evidence based information to prove my point and research. The topic must be related to counseling somehow.
Topic options below . Here are a few links to research that has been completed already that may help you understand to get this research started. My goal is to provide feedback from people or proof of bloodwork or brain scans showing that animals affected the individuals in a positive way or provided some evidence based signs that the animal interaction was the possible reason that the individuals blood pressure, heart rate lowered , or through other means if there is a way of detecting changes in oxytocin and seritonin levels through bloodwork or brain scans to show that the animal contact may have changed the levels or brain scan showing evidence that animal therapy is the possible result for the change after interaction.

I would like to try to prove that animal therapy interaction (therapy animal interaction) for humans is beneficial (which includes counseling/mental health).
The PowerPoint presentation will be graded on the following criteria:
- Oral Presentation 20 pts (flow of information, appropriate explanation of information)
- Group handouts 5 pts
- PowerPoint Itself 5 pts
