I don’t know how to handle this Psychology question and need guidance.
We all have our own lived experiences: They are learning opportunities that help prepare us to become counselors. Before participating in this activity, consider how you reacted to situations as a child compared to how you would react now as an adult. Did you communicate your needs differently as a child than you would now? Diagnosing children can be a different process. This group discussion allows you to learn from each other and gain a different perspective, just as we should learn from our clients and understand their perspectives.
When you are considering personality disorders and other disorders with typical childhood onset, what factors should be taken into consideration during the diagnosis of children versus adults? Consider how culture might influence diagnosis when you are working with different age groups. Do biological factors influence an individual’s potential for a personality disorder?
