Have you been in country before? Most of the time family always goes to vacation in the summer. One time, our families decided go to Eritrea, it on right above Ethiopia. We had a wonderful experience to stay in Eritrea for 3 months. There are some things that I have to tell you about Eritrea are that there are a pretty places, delicious foods and government in Eritrea.
My hometown in the Eritrea, that where my parents come from. They took my sisters and my brothers include me to Eritrea in 2004. It looks like a lot of old building and even some of them are built since 1970. One time, my dad’s friend love to take us around in Asmara, city of Eritrea. I noticed that some house do have concrete fence with a piece of glass on the top. I asked uncle about the concrete fence and he told me that it will prevent people climb over to their fence. Also, he took us to downtown in Harnet avenue that where lot of Eritrea go there .
You have to go to Eritrea and try out their food. The Eritrea food is really delicious and it does make me to eat more often. I love to eat Zebhi Dorho, a marinated chicken with onion, butter and red pepper on Ingera, sour pancake bread. Also, there is another favorite food is Tsebhi, it is a beef with fresh tomatoes and hot pepper. I love to eat Ful, a stew bean with onion tomato and red pepper. Most of Eritrean tends to eat it for breakfast. In our culture, we always eat with my right hand .Sometime you will see a big plate with Eritrea foods tends to be more than three people.
We do have one president Isaias Afwerki in Eritrea. Most people don’t like him. When I was there, I can tell that he was a bad president because one time, I was in Asmara, Eritrea, we suppose go to my dad’s village. It took us four hour drive to get there. I noticed that there are some army was blocking the road and their job to check people in every car and looking for young seventeen year olds because they will send them to army training. Most of the time, people who are older than seventeen years old men didn’t want go to army training so they tends to flee to another country. One time, I was in California, I saw my uncle who came from Eritrea decided to stay to our house. He told me about his terrible experience when he was in Eritrea because he refused go to army training. Army decided to beat and torture him and my uncle had a lot injury so he had to go to Sudan hospital to get recovery. Lucky, he decides to escape after his recovery to America because of the safety reason.
