Concept Statement

The purpose of this project:
is to develop an aesthetically pleasing solution for a commercial property.
You will be designing the interiors for a veterinary clinic/office. The interiors for the veterinary office
will include examination areas, a lab, a reception area, offices, and an area for quiet reflection in
the case of a lost pet. The interior spaces must be functional while integrating applicable building,
Americans with Disabilities Act, and means of egress codes. The materials chosen must be
appropriate for the venue and application.
The clients are two veterinarians who decided to be partners and open their own practice
specializing in small animal veterinary medicine (cats, dogs, hamsters, turtles, etc.). Their practice is
located in Phoenix, Arizona. The clinic is housed in a stand alone building in an office park of new
construction, along with other medical offices. The clients want the clinic to be welcoming and
comfortable but utilitarian with surfaces that are easy to sanitize. The final aesthetic solution must be
functional for the clients and require very little up-dating.

All you need to write a concept statement, you don’t need to talk about the furniture, you are describing the concept using the principles and elements (I will upload a file for the principles and elements to help). Remember, you are to use Biomimicry to help develop your concept (inspiration from nature).

Keep in mind, when you get it done and send me the file, I will send it to my professor to get feedback for any adjustment.
