I’m trying to study for my Sociology course and I need some help to understand this question.

As we start to look at Race, Gender and Class in America; I would like you to stop and think about what these terms mean to you and how who you are plays into these terms.

  • Race
  • Class
  • Gender
  • Sexuality

  • Next watch the following video about intersectionality.

Intersectionality are different parts and experiences that make us who we are.

  • For example: I am a single, heterosexual Caucasian woman who is raising a teenage interracial male. Not only am I a mother, but an adjunct professor and advisor in higher education.
  • I also have Attention Deficit Disorder, Anxiety and depression.]
  • I grew up in Connecticut, but moved to Mississippi to attend Mississippi State University in my late teen/early twenties.
    • Al of these descriptions are just a part of who I am but do not define me as well.
  • Lastly, explain the various parts of you that intersection and make you who you are
