Columbia College Connecting the Dots in Statistics Formulas Discussion

Goal and purpose of this assignment:

For this final assignment, you are going to demonstrate that you have understood the concepts behind the formulas that you have been working with this semester.

The assignment itself:

First, write out the formulas for standard deviation, z-score, any t-Test, and the F-test longhand on a piece of paper. In addition, you are to indicate what each element of the formula represents. Take a picture of the page with the handwritten, annotated formulas, and attach that to the response.

Second, explain each formula in 2-3 sentences, making sure to be sufficiently clear that others can follow what you are describing.

Finally, offer an example of a null and alternative hypotheses for the t-Test and f-Test that could be answered by the that test, with a proposed set of independent and dependent variables you would use to explore your hypotheses.
