Respond to at least one other learner, expressing your ideas regarding how certain points in the course simulation have also influenced your strategic planning abilities and priorities as a leader.
Your response must be substantive and contribute to the discussion. Compare your analysis to that of your peer and comment on the similarities and differences that you see. If there are aspects that you do not agree with, present an argument to support your position. If you need more information from your peer, be sure to ask questions for clarity.

Reflecting upon my initial preparedness to embark on the strategic planning stimulation, the process was a lot more scrupulous and overwhelming than what I initially thought. My organization has several formats of strategic plans in which information various from department to department. However, I do not have any professional or personal knowledge of developing a strategic plan or even participating in the process. So, naturally, I found the strategic planning stimulations more stressful than coursework from previous courses. There were some instances I felt disconnected from what I was learning and then trying to apply it. Connecting my department’s strategic plan with this course, I was able to develop a deeper understanding of how important an organization’s mission and vision play a factor during the preparation stages of strategic planning. I also gained a further understanding of the importance of conducting internal and external analyses, and they can hugely impact the overall effectiveness of a strategic plan. Since this course, I believe I have evolved more understanding of the components of the strategic plan and the timely effects it takes to enact a plan within an organization. I feel I could connect with my knowledge with the course if I had prior knowledge or was involved with developing a strategic plan.
