Hello Everyone,
I want you to find TWO (peer-reviewed) journal articles from Skyline/District library or other sources and provide a summary of each article also known as an annotated bibliography. The assignment “annotated bibliography” is just a fancy word reading a research article and giving a summary of it. Also, the article can be on anything related to this class. This is your opportunity to explore and gain more information about an area that interests you.
So, I want you to find two (peer-reviewed) journal articles from Skyline/District library or other sources ( such as google scholar) and provide a summary of each article – this is also known as an annotated bibliography.
Each should be about 2-3 paragraphs and include the highlights of the article and how it relates to your topic. Please remember to include the citation at the beginning of the article. Please see the example below of how to cite and how to write up the article.
EXAMPLE ON HOW TO FORMAT:
Aydin, H. & Tonguloglu, B. (2014). Graduate student’s perceptions of multicultural education: a qualitative study. Eurasian Journal of Educational Research, 57, 29-50.
This qualitative study of beliefs and implementation of multicultural education by elementary/secondary education teachers and doctoral students on curriculum and instruction in education (Aydin & Tonguloglu, 2014). The authors provided evidence collected via interviews, journals, reflective activities, and focus groups to identify doctoral students’ beliefs and expectations on equality, justice, and democracy in regards to multicultural education. The authors also emphasized the importance of presenting the findings in the voice of the doctoral student to not project their own views about the topic. This was achieved by having more than one-person interviews, observe and analyze the information to provide an objected accurate depiction in the participants’ voice. Based on the three areas (equality, justice, and democracy) of focus several findings were presented to the reader. Democracy was expressed through the importance of understanding how one can contribute or strengthen their community as well as valuing individual opinions and views. Equality was described as providing access to quality education in order to achieve the student’s fullest potential. Justice was described as the act of being socially conscious of all human rights to promote an understanding to help students develop a “democratic and egalitarian society”.
