Observe carefully and take detailed notes throughout the field trip. You can use an institution already visited or take a virtual trip (if possible) of an institution of choice. Answer the below questions in one substantial paragraph each.
If you take ANY information from the website for the institution you visit or other documents, you MUST provide a References page and in-text citations to document your sources.
- What is the function and role of the institution/event you visited? What is its role in the community and its role in culture? Which culture(s) does it represent? What are its goals and mission?
- What cultural interactions did you observe, and what was important about them? For example, did you observe people from different cultures interacting in real life, and/or did you see exhibitions chronicling how different cultures and groups have interacted in history? Describe 2-3 examples in detail.
- What did you learn about the role, value, and challenges of diversity during your visit? Be specific and offer several examples.
- Would you choose to visit this institution/event again? Why or why not
