This weeks readings dives into crisis speeches (Chapter 6). Part of that breaks down what an effective crisis speaker should do. This is in the “Commentary” section and there are seven headers. I am attaching a sample crisis speech below and I want you to analyze it. Pick four areas that are done well or not. Could be a mix (some done well others not). Each of those is worth two points. The final component is an overall assessment. Did you think this was a successful speech or not?
Tips for Success
1. This does not have to be in a paper form but should include complete sentences
2. Always answer the question why? Don’t just say they did or didn’t do something. How did they? Or where did it go wrong? Details are key.
