No one should use the law to harass and annoy. But they do. There are ethical limits to using the law even if you’re missing your pants. Read about the judge’s breach of legal ethics after losing his pants at the dry cleaner. Then, discuss who are the stakeholders? That is, who specifically is or may be harmed when lawyers (especially judges) act this way? What happens to the legal system and all the people in it? And to all of us? The harm is real and that’s why it resulted in a 90-day suspension for the pants-missing judge.
