This new discussion will give you a peak at how the courts shape policy, especially for Law Enforcement agencies. Every month I get a legal update that gives synopses of case law that will most likely impact how the police conduct their business. I’ve posted two of the more recent ones I’ve received in the Course Documents. Take a look at a few of the cases and tell me how the court decisions might impact how deputies or police might approach their work. Does it make their enforcement duties easier or more difficult? Do you consider the decisions fair? How are citizens treated in these decisions? Don’t worry if you don’t understand everything…remember it’s written by lawyers! But I am continually fascinated by how case law impacts the jobs we do on a daily basis.
