The paper will be an expository essay that is 3-5 pages long with references. For this paper you will draw on the readings from the books in class, supplemental reading, multimedia, and other legitimate resources (i.e. do not use things like Wiki). This assignment is a reflection paper meant to push your thinking on one of the topics below.
Civil rights and civil liberties are complicated issues. It is often difficult to define civil rights and civil liberties, let alone have everyone agree on what they are. Also, when we a society does agree on a civil right or civil liberty it can be difficult to truly protect those liberties and rights. Please pick one of the following questions to answer in your paper. 1. What is a civil liberty or civil rights that you think is under threat in our country? 2. What is something that you think should or should not be considered a civil right or civil liberty?
