In The World is a Text, public and private spaces are “readable” through semiotics, through signs and symbols, and through countless other meanings on many levels. In this essay, I want you to choose two buildings in your community and compare and contrast the messages and values that you read from them, inside and outside. Do these buildings share the same set of values, or are they completely different? Why or why not? How do you know? Give specific examples to support your fully developed paragraphs and strong thesis statement in order to pass.
