Introduction

You have been learning about the many kinds of challenges you will face in business and how change is what all challenges have in common. Be sure to review the course information about the different types of challenges, where they come from, and how to prepare for them. And, remember, change can happen to an organization or be implemented at an organization to address challenges (hint: in this assignment, you are looking for the first kind of change).

You are going to identify the challenges and changes facing Café Cupcake—a rapidly growing restaurant chain—and evaluate how well they are handling it all! First, read the case study Recipe for Success: Growth and Evolution at Café Cupcake in your course eBook. Then, answer the questions in Parts 1–6.

Instructions

1. Download the Challenges and Change at Café Cupcake Template -ATTACHED
2. Read the case study Recipe for Success: Growth and Evolution at Café Cupcake (in your eBook).
3. Identify three changes Café Cupcake is going through.
4. Describe each change and specify what challenges led to each change, as outlined in the case.
5. For each of the challenges, determine:
   1. What is the source of each challenge?
   2. What caused it?
   3. Is it an internal or external challenge? Explain your reasoning for selecting internal or external.
6. Describe two opportunities the company has due to the changes you identified. Provide specific information from the case to justify your response.
7. Explain how Café Cupcake responded to each change. Did the organization fight the change or adapt to it?
8. Explain if you think Café Cupcake was prepared to handle the changes it experienced. Provide specific examples from the case to justify your response.
9. Explain what you would have done differently. Justify your response.
10. Save your document as FirstInitial_LastName_JGR300_ A1.
11. Submit your assignment using the Week 4 assignment link in Blackboard.
