Working with someone who doesn’t add anything to the process of a project can be very frustrating. Add to this challenge the fact that your manager can’t (or won’t) help motivate the team.
Have you had this experience…and if so, how did you overcome the challenge? Here’s an example:
You work in HR with a group of 6 other people. Together, you are thought of as the HR department. Your department includes 2 people who don’t agree with a change in management and are dragging their feet on project completion and, when they do complete a task, the wording is negative and borderline unprofessional.
You, along with the other 3 members of HR have now found that you must oversee the work of the problematic team members as well as complete your own tasks. How long would you put up with the negative 2? What are you going to do to solve the challenge?
Chances are very good that you may face this challenge one day. What if the situation included your supervisor? Now what would you do?
