The team reflective journal must contain:

Canvas for progressive assessment latest by week 3).

Instructions and Expectations for the team reflective journal to be considered Satisfactory:

1. Completeness and structure: The completeness and presentation (write up) of the team reflective journal must be such that at any time in the future you or a 3rd person would be able to understand and perform the process leading to the solution of the problems. To elucidate your solutions the use of graphs, comments, sketches, etc. must be shown. The question and its solution must be stated.

2. Equation literacy: You must demonstrate equation literacy. (equations are listed, variables are defined, units are shown, assumptions and limitations of the equations are mentioned, correct choices as to when to apply an equation are made and explained).

3. The reflection: The reflective journal is a free-form writing exercise. Nevertheless, solely a description of your learning experience will not suffice. Your reflection should be a record which includes, but is not limited to:

  • Difficulties you encountered during the weekly sessions
  • How did you go about solving the problem
  • How did you as a team reach consensus

  • 4. Effective Documentation of the problem solving process (at least for each week’s most challenging problem): When making your entries in the Journal, experience shows that it is best if you start by writing about the problem-solving process, its goals, and outcomes. By so doing, you will be reviewing and critically thinking about the concepts you have been taught. Subsequently, you may include your opinion, and expectations.

    5. Demonstration of knowledge: During the feedback session you will be asked to explain your solutions. Although the bulk of the work would have been apportioned among team members, each member must demonstrate knowledge of the complete solution.
