CD 129 Theory of Multiple Intelligences & Psychometric Discussion

Recall back in your training and education what you have learned abut multiple intelligence’s. Some of you might remember learning about Gardner and his theory on multiple intelligences. Some of you might recollect working with children and having a “light bulb” moment when you realized that every child is unique and each one has their own intelligence and different learning style. Or you might just have intuition and just automatically treat each person as an individual and each child’s story is part of who they are and how they learn. It does not matter how you come to the conclusion but understanding that each child is a unique individual and each has their own way of learning is going to benefit you and your students as it helps you to plan a more well rounded curriculum that supports every child’s unique way of learning and exploring in your room.

For this discussion board I want you to discuss what you know about multiple intelligences. Discuss what intelligence you are and how you came to that conclusion. (FYI- I am mostly a kinesthetic learner and I came to that conclusion because I learn and retain information better if it is done in some sort of physical way. I need to have it in my hands, feeling it, smelling it, tasting it. I play and have always played multiple sports at high levels which contributes to my Kinesthetic mindedness.) Add to your discussion why knowing about multiple intelligences is critical to being a successful teacher.
